Summary Note

On May 24, 1901, The American Citizen (Kansas City, KS: an African-American newspaper) published this short blurb about Pensacola, Florida, noting that the Negroes owned more wealth per capita than the larger white population when averaged out.

  &nnsp; This may be a reprint of an identical blurb in The Colored American (Washngton, DC: an African-Amercan newspaper) which published the same blurb on October 27, 1900, p. 12. Newspapers in the same field often used each other's columns and articles.
