Summary Note

The 1904 Edition of the Florida Sentinel featured a section on "Business, Professional and Prominent Public Men of Florida" which included a photograph and biographical sketch of W. H. Northup, Postmaster of Pensacola. It noted his role as President of the Pensacola Electric Terminal Railway Company noting his streetcar lines of nine miles operated by steam and electricity and its plans to double-track Palafox Street and plans to extend the line to Palmetto Beach. In January 1903, he was appointed Postmaster of Pensacola by President Theodore Roosevelt.
