Summary Note

Obituary of Nathan Burrell Cook (1835-1917) who died May 15, 1917 in Pensacola, Florida at age 82. He was born in Haynesville, Alabama, July 20, 1835, and served in the Sixth Alabama Infantry during the Civi War.  In 1885, he was elected Superintendent of Public Instruction for Escambia County and served for 28 years.  N. B. Cook School is named for him.  An addtional note the obituary notes a special meeting of the United Confedeate Veterans, Camp Ward.
