Summary Note

On Sunday, April 22, 2012, UWF alumnus and Iraq Veteran Jason Crawford threw out the first pitch at the UWF Military Appreciation Baseball game at the Jim Spooner Field on the UWF campus.   Crawford joined th U.S. Army at age 18 and was stationed at Fort Hood Army post in Texas, spending time overseas in South Korea and Bosnia.  After three years of active duty, he joined the Army National Guard.  He enrolled at UWF in 1999, serving as resident advisor, joining the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon and serving as president of the Student Government Association.   He was recalled to active duty in 2003.  While on a mission in Baghdad, Iraq, he was shot in the face but recovered.  He received his bachelor's in business management from UWF in 2004, and his MBA in 2010.

  &nnsp; At the time of the April 2012 event, Jason was clinic operations manager for Ochsner Health System in Covington, Louisiana, overseeing daily operations of six specilty physician practices including financial management, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance.
