Scope and Contents

Records, 1972-2000, of the Pilot Club of Greater Pensacola, a service club. Includes awards and certificates, newsletters, yearbooks, and other materials noting the club's history, fund-raising activities, and service programs, such as Hurricane Opal counseling, Epilepsy Services of Northwest Florida, and recycling in Escambia County.

This Pilot Club was organized February 5, 1969, as club #594 in the Florida District. Its last newsletter was April 2000 and it relinquished its charter to Pilot Clubs International on June 30, 2000.

Note that the code of ethics for Pilot changed from an original all women's organization to an all gender organization.

Papers; videocassette; flannel banner; photograph album. Some newsletters on coated paper and ditto, will need to be re-copied.

Recent revisions in the U.S. Copyright Law extended the copyright of correspondence, letters, and other personal papers to the life of the author plus seventy years.
