Scope and Contents
Select run of the New York Times Mid-Week Pictorial War Extra, November 12, 1914 through August 19, 1915, covering World War I through maps and pictures of events around the world.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This set is being retained for research and exhibit use. A complete bound set of the publication is held by the Library (D 501 N6) and a physical examination shows the bound set to be deteriorating and in poorer condition than this smaller group.
This publication does have a title change. The the outbreak of World War I, the New York Times began publishing a mid-week pictorial tabloid extra, titled Mid-Week Pictorial War Extra (September 17, 1914 to February 4, 1915) and renamed Mid-Week Pictorial (February 11, 1915 to February 21, 1918).

Permission may be granted by the Special Collections Librarian for such reprography dependent on issues of copyright, ownership, condition, donor agreements, etc. In general, staff do not make reproductions of copyright materials or materials for which title is not owned by the institution. Recent revisions in the U.S. Copyright Law extended the copyright of correspondence, letters, and other personal papers to the life of the author plus seventy years.
